One of the most arrogant mistakes from the U.S. Government was to put together a massive dairy campaign. The goal was for its citizens to down milk like it was skittles. This produced a fallacy that we have all known; that milk makes us strong and grows strong bones. This was assumed from the high calcium content in dairy and it kept the myth perpetuating. However, now we are seeing the detrimental effects of diary products in more recent detailed studies. We can now even see the long term effects of high dairy consumption on a broad population who have been consuming dairy products for several decades.
Americans diet is generally comprised 20-30% of dairy products on average. Dairy is found in just about everything we eat, whether its protein powders, baked goods, processed foods, condiments and U.S. staple foods. Even our entrees are saturated with dairy. Common American entrees include, lasagna, pizza, burgers, spaghetti, casserole, tacos, and mac and cheese. Even American salads are not complete without a shower of cheese and ranch dressing. It is found in our food so commonly because it is cheap to produce and to acquire, it;s filling to our bodies, and extremely tasty because of its fat content. Our addictive craving to dairy however, has produced a very sick population.
First of all, we humans are not able to digest cows milk. Most people I run into have no idea that a cow has four stomachs, each with a different digestion process. A cow has specific organs including their four stomachs to digest their mothers breast (utter) milk. Humans just simply don’t have the equipment necessary to break down a heifer's glandular contents. Gagging yet?
This is the reason why milk curdles in our belly as our body works in overdrive trying to digest the foreign substance. Ever hear of the “Gallon Challenge?” Its a stupid game to bet someone that they can’t drink a gallon of milk in an hour or less. The secret is that no human can. Our body physically can’t keep up with the digestive process and the high demands from this toxic substance. The gallon of milk is then forced out through vomiting with the result looking similar to cottage cheese. Gosh, I really hope you are not reading this on your lunch break.
On another sick and gross note, don’t you people even realize where this stuff comes from?! My daughter understands that her mother has boobs and that they are a "private part." One night at the dinner table at 4 years old my daughter curiously asked me, “Dad, why doesn’t our family drink milk?” With which I responded, “Well, first, we are allergic to milk and second, milk is squeezed from a cow's boob.” The face that she made was legendary. I about killed over from the look of disgust that plagued my daughters face for the remainder of the night. To this day I must have successfully lodged that horrifying mental image in her brain, because each time she sees milk she shivers and rejects it completely.
When my clients beg for milk from past cravings I tell them, “Ok, you can have milk, under one condition.” They then become desperate saying "Yes, what? Anything.” I reply with, “You can have milk if you suckle it from the utter of maid (milking cow),” I have never had a client take me up on that offer, which speaks loudly to me and them about how gross milk is. Cheese is even worse. Yes, that sounds good for us, eating rotting and decaying clumped up cows breast juice. Uuggg!
Since we are unable to digest dairy, reactive enzymes are forced down our digestive track. Enzymes must be broken down ignorer to loose it's highly reactive charge and also to become small enough to be absorbed through the intestinal lining. However, we are unable to accomplish this process with any dairy products. As the reactive, large curds ooz down our small intestine the undigested enzymes attach themselves to the intestinal lining. As more enzymes are attached a filter is created which makes it reluctant for larger, more complex, nutrients such as minerals and vitamins from being observed into our blood stream. However, the small glucose molecules that have been broken down are able to surge through the dairy filter.
The diary filter blocks very important nutrients such as minerals, proteins, and vitamins from entering our body yet, allows minuscule simple sugars to saturate our system. This creates a foundation for disease and sickness to take a foot hold. Our bodies end up with a lot of energy but no substantial vitamins and minerals that are vital for our immune system to function. If you have been a long time dairy consumer and fear that you have created a massive intestinal filter, don't despair, there is hope.
This filter can be scrubbed away by simply eliminating the flow of dairy products. The fiber in our other foods will chip away the plaque filter that has built up. Especially vegetables and herbs are vital in scrubbing our lining free.
“How long does that process take?”
You will notice a difference within 3 months. Cutting dairy will shed up to 40 lbs of unwanted body weight within 90 days. As for the intestine lining, for it to be running at full capacity again takes anywhere between 1 - 3 years depending on the amount of dairy you have consumed over the years. As you abstain from dairy you will notice a large increase in energy and immune system levels. And it only gets better with each day that you stay away from dairy (cows breast milk).
Many at this time will be concerned about their calcium in take. However, research is showing that milk actually increases the risk of osteoporosis. The process for digesting milk creates high acid levels and our body needs to dilute the acid with an alkali base, calcium is a great source of alkali. Many times the 300mg/cup of calcium found in milk is utilized to dilute the acid levels. When more alkali is needed, the body pulls calcium from our bones and results in a calcium deficiency instead of increase.
We now know that countries that discourage from milk driving have lower rate of fractures even in the elderly.
Just because milk is saturated with calcium doesn't mean that it is a great source. And instead there are a lot of far better calcium sources that we can take advantage of.
Sesame seeds are one of the best sources of calcium. 2240mg/cup of calcium. (Reference) By sprinkling only 1 ounce of sesame seeds on a salad you will be taking in 280 mg of calcium. That is good stuff. It is a good idea to have sesame seeds as a common spice in your spice rack and use them in most every meal.
Additionally there are good milk alternatives. Almond milk is our families favorite, as too much coconut milk can be a strong laxative, and soy milk is a high GMO.
Overall we are doing harm to our body by taking in dairy products causing distress to the body and distraction from it healing itself. We may even be causing more issues, like osteoporosis from this foreign substance. In truth there are far better alternatives than dairy products for calcium, which is the main reason we were told to consume so much of it and the alternatives are much more healthy for us and easier on our body.
