The world we live in is extremely technical. Nearly every electronic devices is run on wifi or bluetooth. It is even found in our cars, homes, work, planes, and buses.
However, most people do not realize that wifi is a type of radiation that can cause damage to our DNA.
Being near wifi for limited periods of time have no harmful effects, similar to receiving a few x-rays each years. However, being exposed to wifi and bluetooth at a close proximity for long periods of time will create the opportunity for cancer to occur.
Look, I am a realist and I understand that we are not going to get rid of wifi and bluetooth completely. Otherwise I would never be able to write this blog post. Although, there are steps that we can take to reduce the amount of time and proximity that we are exposed to this radiation.
The most acute exposure we tend to have is with our cell phone. Putting a highly radiated devise right next to our head is not the best idea and the issue becomes more aggressive when the phone has active bluetooth and wifi set on as well.
1. The best thing to do is to turn off the wifi and bluetooth on your phone when you are not using them. Only turn them on when needed.
2. Next, if you are making a call use the speaker function or wired earphones to keep a safe distance from the phone while in use.
3. If you have to take the phone call up to your ear, try to not spend too much time on the call. Or call back when you can put the phone on speaker.
Additionally we can minimize the impact of radiation in our home environment. Most families have a wifi router in their home that spreads radiation throughout the house. This is very dangerous especially because it typically does this 24/7 even while we sleep. Yikes! That is a lot of time to be exposed to wifi.
However, it is very inconvenient to unplug the wifi when we go to bed and have to replug the router in each morning. Many times we place the router in a challenging to reach place, so the unsightly box stays out of sight.
There is a solution that my family has found. Amazon sells an outlet remote adapter. Specifically the one we use has a timer capability so that the router will turn off at a certain time every day and then restart in the morning.
The remote outlet adapter also has a setting to where it will turn on anytime your iPhone enters the house and when you leave the power will turn off. And of coarse there is a manual mode too. The point is you can turn off the wifi router from anywhere any time by simply pushing a button on your iPhone or tablet. The adapter we use is displayed below for your convenience.
When ever you go to sleep make sure all your devices have the wifi and bluetooth turned off and vuala you have form 8-10 hours at night every day where your body can properly recoup and repair any damage done during the day.
Take these simple steps and you will fall in the category of receiving a non cancer causing dose of radiation. Our bodies need time to heal and if we reduce the proximity and duration of our radiation exposure we will add many more days to our life and a better quality of healing sleep.
